Need a boost of energy and nutrition? J's Flavs

J's Flavs are the BOMB!

Pumpkin and Pineapple Punch

I had the pleasure of meeting Janelle Alexander-Wilson, an up and coming entrepreneur who has discovered the sweet spot of finding what you enjoy doing and being paid for it!

J's Flavs began in October 2016 as secondary income to support her family. Within the last decade, the popularity of having a punch from the neighbourhood vendor became a common sight.  We Trinis love to drink our energy blasts in  a Styrofoam cup filled to the brim, with a cold and frothy punch forming a mustache at our mouths.  Janelle agreed with the readiness of energy that these drinks offered, but for her, they lacked flavour.   Therefore  she decided to whip up some combinations of her own in her kitchen and asked her children to be the food critics.  From that thought, she created two product lines: Regular flavours and Gourmet.

Her punches caught my attention for two reasons:
  1. All of her ingredients are natural.  There are no preservatives and they are made fresh upon order.
  2. She is innovative when it comes to flavours and  customer preferences.
Her regular flavours carry the usual suspects:- Peanut, Banana, Channa, Seamoss and Linseed, Peanut and Linseed and her Seamoss and Caramel.  Interesting!

Beetroot Punch
The Gourmet flavours covers the Bomb!, the Bomb Ultra! (made up of Sweet Potato, Beet, Seamoss and Chai), Beetroot, Sweet Potato, Cookies and Cream, Custard and Mauby, Custard and Strawberry and the Pumpkin and Pineapple.

I tried to steer clear of the tempting Cookies and Cream and opted for the Pumpkin and Pineapple in the small (250ml) as opposed to her large offering of (500ml).  Her male customers wanted a larger size option, so she also has the 700ml bottle.  I made up my mind to drink it like a Tequila shot, but after the first two sips, I knew that I was in trouble.  I should have purchased the larger bottle.  The punch had a smooth consistency and tasty, not too sweet which was appreciated and 'moreish'.

Janelle also considered the lactose intolerant customers and offers Peanut and Banana-Strawberry Fusion with her own homemade Almond Milk.  Yes, she makes Almond Milk from scratch at home!!

Peanut Punch

As a businesswoman, she is mindful of her product's shelf life and ventures to the local market at least 3 times a week for her raw materials, arranges deliveries and buys her bottles and sterilizes them.

Her price point is a win-win.  The regular flavours cost only TTD10.00 for the small container and TTD20.00 for the 500ml bottles.  The Gourmet cost is TTD12.00 for the small and TTD24.00 for the large.  Customised blends are available only for the 500ml  bottles at TTD25.00 each.

Healthy and inexpensive.. its a deal.  Janelle can be contacted at 1-868-795-0506.

Give it a try and see for yourself..

Salud!
